On July 4, SAIC Anji Logistics and COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd. (COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers) signed the “Strategic Cooperation Agreement on International Car Carrier Capacity” in Shanghai. Adhering to the principles of equality, mutual benefit, integrity, and joint development, the two parties will fully leverage their respective advantages in shipping space and routes, actively promote resource sharing, and jointly explore innovative models of cooperation.
With Lin Ji, Deputy General Manager of COSCO Shipping Group; Zhang Wei, Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers; Wu Bing, Vice President of SAIC Motor; and Zhuang Jingxiong, General Manager of SAIC Anji Logistics, as witnesses, Zhang Chi, Deputy General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, and Xin Jianmin, Deputy General Manager of SAIC Anji Logistics, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies.
The agreement specifies that both parties will establish a dedicated cooperation team to jointly coordinate working mechanisms and implementation measures, as well as conduct regular mutual visits and exchanges. Focusing on key routes such as Far East–Europe, the two companies will engage in strategic collaborations including car carrier space swapping and capacity sharing, realizing solutions for resource sharing in automotive shipping, improving service quality and operational efficiency, and providing customers with more comprehensive and high-quality services.
To effectively implement the strategic cooperation, Shi Jun, Deputy General Manager of SAIC Anji Shipping under SAIC Anji Logistics, and Du Xiaotian, Deputy General Manager of Yuanhai Car Carrier under COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, signed the “Car Carrier Space Exchange Agreement” on behalf of their respective companies, officially launching a cooperative model for space swapping and capacity sharing on relevant car carrier routes.
Both parties emphasized that this cooperation will strictly comply with domestic laws and regulations as well as international shipping regulatory requirements, aiming to improve the efficiency of resource allocation through market-oriented means. In response to changes in the global automotive and shipping markets, the two sides will fully leverage their core strengths in car carrier capacity, route deployment, and operations, actively promote space swapping and sharing, optimize capacity allocation, improve vessel utilization and operational efficiency, and jointly fulfill their social responsibility towards green and low-carbon development. By innovating cooperation models, they will offer customers a wider service network, higher frequency, and more high-quality and stable international car carrier services.
Against the backdrop of intensified global competition, the partnership between SAIC Anji Logistics and COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers will serve as a model for China’s automotive shipping and logistics collaboration. Looking ahead, SAIC Anji Logistics will work alongside its partners to develop diversified “shipping + port + logistics” service solutions and build a “door-to-door” full-chain international service system, providing even stronger support for Chinese automobiles to sail to overseas markets.
